Veritech Systems provided 3 X 6 camera, Deep in Mind -AI CCTV systems for the security of the materials and site welfare for all 3 compound areas.

To support and back up the security provision for all three site locations, we provided a dedicated mobile response supervisor who’s remit was to visit each of the locations throughout the shift patterns, conduct additional foot patrols, vehicle patrols and perimeter security checks of the 3 sites and also act as an immediate back up support for the on-site security teams all vehicle patrols were provided utilising a 4 x 4 sign “partnership liveried vehicle” with decals and security lighting.

Project Mobile Patrol Supervisor:

The project mobile patrol supervisor divided their time throughout the supervisor shift across all 3 locations. When the supervisor was at each location, a full site patrol was completed ensuring security checks of the perimeter fence line utilising the vehicle provided, this was completed upon arrival to site and again before leaving site for the next location, recording, and reporting any site perimeter fence line faults and issues. The supervisor also completed foot patrols while the security officer conducted patrols. The supervisor always used designated roadways on each site when driving the provide vehicle.

The Challenge

  • All 3 sites were located in Salisbury and positioned close to the busy A303, A3026 and the A345 in Wiltshire.
  • Single track access and regress – gateman controlled
  • Due to the location of the site this makes the site a prime target for terrorists and protesters looking to gain maximum publicity.
  • The security measures necessary for safeguarding the construction areas, access roads and persons of the contractual client extending to the safeguarding of the general public.
  • Ramblers Routes – public access, control planning.
  • Opportunist and targeted thefts.
  • Welfare, Health & Safety hazards, communications, lone workers.

The Solution

The team use Guard Touring devices (diester guns) for all foot and vehicle patrols, which is logged for the client’s piece of mind. These devices are utilised during all patrols and around the site locations as well as the car park areas and sensitive high-risk areas. New live reporting with client login to PARIM.

Communications utilising 4G radio comms with all operatives and control, back up using mobile phones as part of BCP.

Logistical planning for delivery access and egress.

The gateman checks all personnel entering the site, ensuring appropriate identification is shown on entry, this effective process ensures only authorised persons enter.

The team are also responsible for the monitoring of the CCTV covering the compound sites, and regular patrols to ensure that perimeter security and site safety is maintained.

Fully trained CCTV operatives in our 24/7 control centre, first aiders and incident controllers.

In addition to this, we have developed training modules for staff in non-accredited skills, such as COVID-19 - Coronavirus Essentials, Slips, Trips and Falls and Health & Safety.

Act Awareness trained - ACT Awareness training provides recognised corporate counter terrorism guidance to help our staff better understand, and mitigate against, current terrorist methodology.
