Veritech Leading the Way in Raising Awareness and Standards with NASDU (National Association of Security Dog Users)
The National Association of Security Dog Users (NASDU), established in 1996, sets best practices for dog security across the UK. NASDU adopts BS 8517 Parts 1 & 2 as its standard for deploying security dog teams, working closely with the British Standards Institute to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
As an Associate Company Member of NASDU, Veritech adheres fully to its standards. We are also approved under the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) and have formally committed to BS 8517.
Our Health and Safety Director, Stuart Wright, was so impressed by NASDU’s head trainer that he, along with our leadership team, completed the NASDU management course. This led to the development and implementation of all current policies, procedures, and risk assessments for canine security deployments.
Clients considering dog security should ensure that any provider is ACS-approved and can supply risk assessments, assignment instructions, NASDU Level 2 training certifications, and documentation of performance evaluations.
