Beyond the Shore: Veritech’s Marine Safety Training.Preparing Our Operatives for the Marine Environment

Veritech operatives recently completed specialist training to prepare them to work safely on site within a marine environment.

An important part of the training focused on what to do following an unexpected fall into cold water. Cold water shock can immediately affect breathing, movement and clear thinking, making it essential to control the initial panic response.

Our operatives learned the basic life-saving principles of Float to Live:

• Tilt the head back and keep the ears in the water.
• Relax and regain control of breathing.
• Use gentle movements to remain afloat.
• Once breathing is controlled, call for help or move towards safety.
