This is What the Heart of Veritech Looks Like

Last Friday, our Veritech team swapped uniforms, laptops and toolkits for a summer BBQ, a field full of challenges and plenty of laughter.
From tug of war, bridge building and the plank race to the minefield challenge and three-legged races, there was healthy competition, questionable tactics, and more than a few moments that had everyone laughing. But the games weren’t really the point.

What made the day special was seeing colleagues from every part of the business spending time together away from the day-to-day pressures. Engineers, security officers, control room staff, operations, administration and management all working together in a completely different way.
The trust, communication and teamwork we rely on every day to protect our clients were on display in a very different setting.

As a business, we often talk about culture. The truth is, culture isn’t created in a boardroom or written in a handbook. It’s built through shared experiences, supporting one another, celebrating successes and simply enjoying each other’s company.

We work in an industry that never really stops. Our teams cover nights, weekends, emergencies and critical incidents, often putting others first. Taking a day to recognise the people behind Veritech is every bit as important as recognising the work they do.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the day, everyone who joined in, and to those who embraced every challenge with enthusiasm (even if some discovered they’re better security professionals than athletes!).

Days like these remind us that our greatest strength isn’t our technology or our systems…

It’s our people.
