Honouring the Moment — 11 November, Remembrance Day

Today, on 11th November, we pause and reflect — a solemn day across the United Kingdom and in our local community to honour those who served and sacrificed in conflict. Beyond Borders

As a team at Veritech Systems Ltd (based in Southampton, proudly rooted in service and security) we feel a special resonance with this day. In our daily work — protecting people, assets and communities — we know all too well the value of dedication, vigilance and unity.

Why this day matters

The armistice of the First World War came into effect at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, and over time 11 November became a date to remember the fallen of multiple conflicts.
The red poppy, the two-minute silence at 11 am, and ceremonies throughout the UK are familiar, powerful tokens of remembrance and respect.

For us in the security industry, and in the wider business world, it’s also a moment to remember that the freedoms we operate under have been protected by many courageous individuals — past and present.
